The 1st and youngest Kshtriya ruler in india who Fight against East INDIA COMPANY in 1824 on His (Military station) called Chavni at SEHORE. Much before the First war of Independence in 1857.

The history of Kunwar Chain Singh Ji of Narsinghgarh State is filled with bravery and courage. Being the youngest Kshatriya ruler in India, he fought against the East India Company in 1824 at his military station called Chavni at Sehore. This occurred much before India's First War of Independence in 1857. Alongside his father-in-law, Shivnath Singh Ji Rajawat, Jhilai Muwaliya Jageer, they fought together.

Prince Chain Singh Ji, while his father Rawat Sobhag Singh Ji was ill, took charge of the administration of the state. He was known for his courage, intelligence, and self-respect. He ruled with fairness and justice, gaining the admiration and respect of the people of Narsinghgarh State.

However, Prince Chain Singh Ji's refusal to acknowledge the supremacy of the East India Company angered them. They were waiting for an opportunity to strike back. In a planned murder, a palace official named Vora (Bora) was assassinated. The East India Company held Prince Chain Singh Ji responsible for the murder and demanded that he leave the state and go to Banaras. Refusing to accept the murder charge, Prince Chain Singh Ji defied the Company. This act was seen as rebellion by the East India Company, and a battle ensued in 1824 at Sehore, with Prince Chain Singh Ji's forces against the Company's military. Tragically, Prince Chain Singh Ji fought valiantly but lost his life in the battle at the young age of 24.

To honor his memory, Kunwar Chain Singh Ji's Samadhi is situated near the battlefield. He is known as the "Amar Shaheed of Malwa" and is officially recognized by the government of Madhya Pradesh. People from all communities visit his Samadhi to offer prayers and seek his blessings. Additionally, his father-in-law, Shivnath Singh Ji Jhilai Muvaliya Jageer, was also killed in the battle.

3 Family members with 40 Jageerdar and Himmatkha Bahadurkha also killed in Sehore Battle and their tombs are built near Prince Chain Singh Ji's Samadhi in Sehore and Narsinghgarh Charbagh in the main market.

Every year, the government of Madhya Pradesh organizes a program called Shaheed Kunwar Chain Singh Ji Jayanti Samaroh on 24th July. It includes a procession that starts from his Samadhi at Char-Bag Narsinghgarh and Sehore.

In addition, there is a beautiful dam named Kunwar Chain Singh Sagar Dam, recognized by the government of Madhya Pradesh. It is located 30 kilometers from the city and can be reached by road.

Kunwar Chain Singh Ji married Kuwranisa Rajawat Ji from Thikana Mualiya Jageer, which is a royal Thikana of Narsinghgarh State.  She belongs to the royal family of Thikana Jhilay Jaipur. After the martyrdom of Kunwar Chain Singh Ji, Kuwrani Rajawati Ji took a lifetime fast without food, only consuming fruits on tree leaves. She also built a temple at Parsuram Sagar called "Kuwranisa Ji Mandir" for prayer.

Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, upon hearing about Prince Chain Singh Ji's rebellious nature towards the East India Company and his battle at Sehore, approached Narsinghgarh State for help in the First War of Independence in 1857. The then ruler of Narsinghgarh agreed to assist, but unfortunately, before any aid could be provided, Rani Lakshmi Bai was surrounded by Company forces at Gwalior and became a martyr. Tatya Tope, her close confidant and main supporter in the struggle for Indian Independence, arrived in Narsinghgarh after her martyrdom. The ruler of Narsinghgarh secretly harbored him in the thick forest of Kantora, located just behind the Fort Palace, for a significant period.

Kuwar Chain singh ji’s Due to illness of his Father Rawat Sobhag Singhji,Prince Chain Singhji was in charge of the administration of the State.Prince Chain Singh ji was courageous, brave and intelligent.He was a highly self-respecting person.He ruled the State with a firm hand giving justice to one and all evenly.The People of Narsinghgarh State admired him and held him in high respect.Historical evidence says Prince Chain Singhji was
reluctant to acknowledge the supremacy of the East India Company. This irritated the Company and they were waiting to get to his jugular vein. In a planned murder one palace official named Vora who was returning from the palace was assassinated.
The Company held Prince Chain Singh ji responsible behind the murder and asked him to leave the State and proceed to Banaras. The Prince refused to accept the murder charge and defied the Company. This was considered as rebellion by the East India Company. As a result a battle took place between Prince Chain singh ji's forces and military of East India Company in 1824 at Sehore a town about 37 kilometer West of Bhopal. He fought valiantly and died in the battle at the age of 24 years.


Kunwar Chain Singh ji SAMADHI  

His Samadhi is situated near the battlefield.He is considered as “Amar Shaheed of Malwa” and as such recognized officially by the government of Madhya Pradesh. All communities go to his Samadhi and offer prayers and seek his blessings. Himmat Khan and Bahadur Khan, Jagirdars of Dhanora of Narsinghgarh State were killed along with him. Their tombs are built near the Samadhi of Prince Chain Singh ji at Sehor.

Every Year Government of Madhya Pradesh healed a Program on 24-july called Shaheed Kunwar Chain Singh ji jayanti Samaroh,where a Julus Starts from his SAMADHI at Char-Bag Narsinghgarh.

Kunwar Chain Singh ji married with Kuwrani Rajawat ji from Thikana Mualiya jageer a Royal Thikana of Narsinghgarh State just 3km away from city and forefather belongs from royal family Thikana Jhilay-Jaipur. Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi had heard about Prince Chain Singhji's rebellious attitude towards the East India Company and the battle he fought with the Company at Sehore in 1827.She decided to approach the Narsinghgarh State for help in the first war of Independence of 1857 against the Company to which the then Ruler of Narsinghgarh agreed.But unfortunately before Narsinghgarh could render any sort of help,the Rani was surrounded by the Company forces at Gwalior and she became a martyr. After the martyrdom of Rani Lakshmi Bai,Tatya Tope her close confidant and main supporter in the first struggle for Indian Independence of 1857 came to Narsinghgarh and was clandestinely kept by the Ruler in the thick forest of Kantora just behind the Fort Palace for quite a long time till he moved to another location to carry out his struggle.   www.karnisena.com  Source :- www.narsinghgarh.com
