Kunwar Chain Singh ji 1824

#History_of_KunwarChainSinghji
The 1st and youngest Kshtriya ruler in india who Fight against East INDIA COMPANY in 1824 on His (Military station) called Chavni at SEHORE. Much before the First war of Independence in 1857.

The history of Kunwar Chain Singh Ji of Narsinghgarh State is filled with bravery and courage. Being the youngest Kshatriya ruler in India, he fought against the East India Company in 1824 at his military station called Chavni at Sehore. This occurred much before India's First War of Independence in 1857. Alongside his father-in-law, Shivnath Singh Ji Rajawat Jhilai Muwaliya Jageer, they fought together.

Prince Chain Singh Ji, while his father Rawat Sobhag Singh Ji was ill, took charge of the administration of the state. He was known for his courage, intelligence, and self-respect. He ruled with fairness and justice, gaining the admiration and respect of the people of Narsinghgarh State.

However, Prince Chain Singh Ji's refusal to acknowledge the supremacy of the East India Company angered them. They were waiting for an opportunity to strike back. In a planned murder, a palace official named Vora (Bora) was assassinated. The East India Company held Prince Chain Singh Ji responsible for the murder and demanded that he leave the state and go to Banaras. Refusing to accept the murder charge, Prince Chain Singh Ji defied the Company. This act was seen as rebellion by the East India Company, and a battle ensued in 1824 at Sehore, with Prince Chain Singh Ji's forces against the Company's military. Tragically, Prince Chain Singh Ji fought valiantly but lost his life in the battle at the young age of 24.

To honor his memory, Kunwar Chain Singh Ji's Samadhi is situated near the battlefield. He is known as the "Amar Shaheed of Malwa" and is officially recognized by the government of Madhya Pradesh. People from all communities visit his Samadhi to offer prayers and seek his blessings. Additionally, his father-in-law, Shivnath Singh Ji Jhilai Muvaliya Jageer, was also killed in the battle.

3 Family members with 40 Jageerdar and Himmatkha Bahadurkha also killed in Sehore Battle and their tombs are built near Prince Chain Singh Ji's Samadhi in Sehore and Narsinghgarh Charbagh in the main market.

Every year, the government of Madhya Pradesh organizes a program called Shaheed Kunwar Chain Singh Ji Jayanti Samaroh on 24th July. It includes a procession that starts from his Samadhi at Char-Bag Narsinghgarh and Sehore.

In addition, there is a beautiful dam named Kunwar Chain Singh Sagar Dam, recognized by the government of Madhya Pradesh. It is located 30 kilometers from the city and can be reached by road.

Kunwar Chain Singh Ji married Kuwranisa Rajawat Ji from Thikana Mualiya Jageer, which is a royal Thikana of Narsinghgarh State.  She belongs to the royal family of Thikana Jhilay Jaipur. After the martyrdom of Kunwar Chain Singh Ji, Kuwrani Rajawati Ji took a lifetime fast without food, only consuming fruits on tree leaves. She also built a temple at Parsuram Sagar called "Kuwranisa Ji Mandir" for prayer.

Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, upon hearing about Prince Chain Singh Ji's rebellious nature towards the East India Company and his battle at Sehore, approached Narsinghgarh State for help in the First War of Independence in 1857. The then ruler of Narsinghgarh agreed to assist, but unfortunately, before any aid could be provided, Rani Lakshmi Bai was surrounded by Company forces at Gwalior and became a martyr. Tatya Tope, her close confidant and main supporter in the struggle for Indian Independence, arrived in Narsinghgarh after her martyrdom. The ruler of Narsinghgarh secretly harbored him in the thick forest of Kantora, located just behind the Fort Palace, for a significant period.
